Philippe Wils crowned champion of Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux 2024

Zandvoort, October 10, 2024 – The Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux 2024 has come to an exciting conclusion. Belgian driver Philippe Wils, representing Q1 Trackracing, claimed the overall championship title after an impressive season, securing a win in the first race and a second-place finish in the final race at Circuit Zandvoort. Wils also dominated the ‘992 AM’ class, adding another title to his name. Niels Troost (Team GP Elite) clinched victory in the last race, securing the championship in the ‘992’ class. Meanwhile, Mees Muller (PG Motorsport) triumphed in the ‘GT4RS’ category, taking home two race wins and the class title. Menno van de Grijspaarde (Team GP Elite) mirrored that success in the ‘GT4RS AM’ class, earning his championship after a pair of victories. Zandvoort marked the final round of a thrilling season, and preparations for the 2025 edition of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux are already underway.



Philippe Wils reflected on his successful season in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992:"I’m absolutely delighted with this title," he said. "Winning at Spa and now again in Zandvoort makes me incredibly proud." Wils secured the first race victory in both the overall and ‘992 AM’ class, finishing ahead of Lennart Hiemstra (Triple & Crown Racing) and Alfred Lenferink (Hans Weijs Motorsport). In the ‘992’ class, Floris Dullaart (Team GP Elite) triumphed, with Niels Troost taking second place.



In the ‘GT4RS’ class, Mees Muller delivered a flawless performance, securing his championship title by finishing ahead of Dino van der Geest (Team GP Elite) and Sam Scholten (PG Motorsport). In the ‘GT4RS AM’ class, Menno van de Grijspaarde claimed victory in the first race, finishing ahead of Ronald van Vliet (RFF Motorsport) and Bas Barenbrug (Bas Koeten Racing).


The second race saw Niels Troost dominate, securing his title in the ‘992’ class and holding off a competitive field in the ‘992 AM’ class, including Philippe Wils, Lennart Hiemstra, and Peter Munnichs (Team GP Elite).



In the ‘GT4RS’ class, newly crowned champion Mees Muller celebrated another victory, finishing ahead of Dino van der Geest and Belle Rappange (Team GP Elite).Muller expressed his satisfaction:"We could have wrapped it up in Spa, but things didn’t go our way there. Winning in the Netherlands, in front of my supporters, makes it extra special. Big thanks to PG Motorsport for all their support."


Similarly, Menno van de Grijspaarde celebrated his success in the ‘GT4RS AM’ class after two decisive victories:"At 51, this is my first title, and it feels fantastic! The competition was fierce until the very end. A big thank you to the Team GP Elite crew." He was joined on the final race podium by G. King (W.D.P Racing) and Bas Barenbrug.



The season has come to a close with all titles decided, marking another memorable chapter in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux.
